You are personally legally responsible for any content you publish in online communications. Your words do reflect on corporate and product brands whether or not you specifically mention your employee status.
- Do not post or link to any material that is obscene, pornographic, abusive, illegal, slanderous, discriminatory, defamatory, harassing, vulgar, threatening, and/or knowingly false.
- Do not communicate any information that violates the privacy rights of another individual or legal entity.
- Do not convey Company secrets or Company financials.
- Be solution-focused. Add something of value for your audience through:
- Sharing your personal expertise and knowledge
- Providing a pointer and filter to relevant topics published by others
- Offering insight based on your experience to particular situations and applications.
- Be open, honest and transparent. Online conversations are far reaching and scrutinized by all participants. Always be truthful, genuine, and quick to respond to mistakes or questions.
- Write what you know. The best way to be interesting and stay out of trouble is to write about what you know. Remember, even if you delete the post, it is already saved in a great number of places on the internet so think before you publish. Post as if everyone you know reads or hears every word.
- Do not personally disparage fellow employees, authors, customers, other suppliers, or shareholders.
