It’s been a crazy week as we approach next week’s Emerson Exchange conference in Denver. I hope if you’re going, we have the chance to cross paths and talk.

Catch-ReleaseIf you’ll be there, I wanted to share a presentation that I am co-presenting with eog resources‘ Rene Beck. The title of our presentation, in the spirit of the great fly-fishing around Colorado, is Catch and Release Your Support Organizations. Here is the abstract for our workshop:

Many companies are efficient at managing projects or outsourcing that management. One thing often under planned is how the organization will support the results of a project and the staffing/resource impact long term. You need to build the team to support the tools and technologies the organization is deploying and recognize, up front, the costs for that long term support. We’ll look at best practices and share a case study in a process to identify the resources, training, social networks and procedures that guide their work, and launch that group independent from original project structure.

Our workshops will be on Wednesday, October 14 at 11am in room 604 and repeated on Thursday, October 15 at 10am in room 608.

If the subject interests you, use the myExchange Tool to add it to your schedule. If you are not able to join us, I’ll see if I can post the final presentation in SlideShare after the conference.

Make sure to follow next week’s action on the Live page and throughout the Emerson Exchange 365 community.
