Emerson's Marc Buttler

The Bulk Liquids Storage Terminals webinar series continues next week on Wednesday, August 30 at 1pm CDT. The webinar, Reduce Uncertainty in Product Transfer, will be hosted by Emerson’s Marc Buttler. He will discuss the latest solutions to help achieve efficient and profitable liquid loading and unloading product transfer operations.

These include technologies that enable consistent and precise metering—while automatically producing bills of lading and other required documentation. Marc will share insights on ways to reduce bottlenecks, maintain safer operations, and increase capabilities to meet changing terminal customer requirements. He’ll provide an overview of common product transfer challenges and application-specific solutions for the loading rack, blending, batch interface and proving operations.

Product transfers facilitate distribution of liquid products to and from storage to trucks, railcars, barges, ships and pipelines.

Terminal product transfer types

These product transfer activities are the cash register for terminal operators. They are increasingly challenged with quantity and quality demands, the growing number of types of products, the increasing metering, piping and transfer arm flexibility requirements, scheduling, personnel turnover and the complexity of regulatory and security requirements. In short, meeting customer expectations continues to grow more difficult.

Register for the webinar to learn more about the technologies and their impact on terminal staff to more effectively operate in each phase of product transfer—product delivery & receipt, electronic liquid measurement, additive addition and monitoring and meter proving. Marc will also share some application examples and business results from applying the technologies and work practice.
